Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in accordance with established menus, dietary requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role ensures that residents receive high-quality, safe, and timely food service while maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes
Ensure food is appetizing, properly portioned, and served on time
Prepare therapeutic and special diet meals as required
Assist with meal service and special events
Kitchen Operations
Review menus and ensure accuracy of meal preparation
Follow all dietary procedures and facility policies
Assist with inventory, storage, and organization of food and supplies
Coordinate with dietary staff and other departments
Safety & Sanitation
Follow all sanitation, infection control, and safety procedures
Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
Report hazards, accidents, or equipment issues promptly
Properly handle food waste and use protective equipment as required
Resident Care & Service
Support a positive dining experience for residents
Maintain confidentiality of resident information
Address concerns or complaints appropriately
Qualifications
Education
Minimum of 12th grade education required
Experience
Dietary or food service experience in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
Requirements
Ability to cook large quantities of food
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Ability to work well with residents, staff, and families
Must be at least 19 years of age
Physical & Work Conditions
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Exposure to temperature changes (kitchen, refrigeration areas)
May be exposed to infectious materials and kitchen hazards
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing daily cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the facility. This role supports infection control practices, follows established cleaning procedures, and ensures resident rooms and common areas are properly maintained while respecting resident privacy and dignity.

The Activity Assistant supports the Activity Director in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs designed to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and psychosocial needs of residents within the facility. The position assists with resident assessments, care planning, recreational programming, transportation coordination, documentation, and community involvement while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. The Activity Assistant works collaboratively with residents, families, nursing staff, and other departments to promote resident engagement, independence, dignity, and quality of life through meaningful activities and supportive services. The role also includes maintaining safety and infection control standards, supporting quality assurance initiatives, assisting with resident rights and grievance processes, and providing compassionate daily interaction with residents in a professional and respectful manner.
