The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for helping maintain the facility, grounds, equipment, and building systems in a safe, clean, and efficient manner to support resident comfort and daily operations. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems, heating and cooling equipment, and general facility upkeep. The Maintenance Assistant follows established safety, sanitation, infection control, and fire prevention procedures while responding to maintenance requests and ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards. The role also supports a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors through proper equipment maintenance, hazard prevention, and prompt reporting of unsafe conditions. The Maintenance Assistant works collaboratively with other departments and demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and respect for resident rights and confidentiality at all times.
